Amanda Raye Thornton is an attorney who specializes in handling cases in a range of courts, including circuit, chancery, juvenile and general session courts. Her principal practice area is family law, and she has been instrumental in managing numerous appellate cases in the Court of Appeals. She is a native of Lebanon, Tennessee, and her roots in the area have significantly impacted her commitment to serving her local community.
In 2003, she earned a B.S. degree from Western Kentucky University. She sat for the bar exam in the summer of 2007 after which she was officially licensed to practice law in Tennessee in October of the same year. Amanda was admitted to practice in the Federal District Court of Tennessee- Middle District in 2009, allowing her to broaden her scope of influence and aid in more complex cases.
Amanda's journey to becoming a highly-regarded attorney began in law school when she secured a clerkship with Roberts & Associates, a versatile general practice law office based in Nashville, Tennessee. After her graduation and successful passing of the bar exam, she joined the team at Roberts & Associates as an associate attorney. From 2007 to 2013, she dedicated her efforts primarily to family law related issues, ensuring that she could provide the best service to families in need.
In 2013, she took a significant step in her career when she helped form the office of Roberts, Thornton & Pence, an association of talented attorneys. There, she continued to concentrate on matters involving family law, including divorce, custody, child support, paternity, visitation and so on, until 2019.
In 2019, Amanda made a transition to the office of Thornton & Pence, where she continued to focus on family law related issues. She has since remained dedicated to her legal career, providing advice and representation to her clients throughout Middle Tennessee.
Outside of her professional commitments, Ms. Thornton cherishes her personal time. She loves spending quality time with her family and appreciating the beauty of the outdoors.
